Full control of quality, thanks to Improvus.

Sven Åke Johansson. Linde Gas Division,
Head of Marketing New Segments.

The creation of a functional quality system involves hard work. Adding up the various individual areas to be analyzed and documented makes for a long list. Just to mention a few: information feedback, production control, quality improvement, safety, and validation, as well as environmental issues.
We met with Sven Åke Johansson at Linde, who had contacted Improvus regarding whether Improvus could come up with a more easily accessible system than that used at the time.

Sven Åke Johansson at Linde is satisfied with having an easily accessible, and stable, quality system.

What was the biggest problem with the quality system you had?
“Well, first of all, it was hard to understand, and the fact that it was so comprehensive didn’t make things easier. Every quality control thus took an unnecessarily long time. Another disadvantage was that updating was a difficult job.”

What was the biggest challenge for Improvus when work on a new quality system was to start?
“We had focused part of our sales on the pharmaceutical industry, and it is a well-known fact that the industry places stringent demands on sub-suppliers, wherein quality, safety, and regulatory work constitute a basic threshold. So, in order not to increase our documentation further, we wanted to design a system that would support our process.”

You chose Improvus as the supplier for this job. How is the new quality system working, now, when everything is in place?
“I am very satisfied with what Improvus has supplied us. We ended up with less administration and could, at the same time, cut down on our earlier paperwork. Thus, despite these simplifications, we now see that quality controls have become more effective than previously.  Another benefit is that we end up with a more stable system, which is a big plus.”

What do you mean by “more stable”?

“Quality systems always have to be continually updated and, with this new system, that is much simpler than before.”

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Well, yes, another important benefit with the new system is that it is easy to grasp, and can be used even by someone who is not accustomed. We also see spin-off effects in that other business areas in the Linde group can use the same system,” concluded Sven Åke.".
